uBetWHAT.com Reinvents Online Gaming
uBetWHAT.com changes all the rules, becomes the first Hands-Off Gaming Community.
New York, NY, July 29, 2003 – uBetWHAT?! today launched a unique subscription-based message board
community that allows members to discuss and place bets on almost anything
with almost anything. uBetWhat?! allows members to bet anything from cash
to merchandise or just for fun by betting for “Fun-Tokens”.
UBetWHAT?! is the betting equivalent of eBay, where members create and settle their own
transactions and acquire ratings with little or no intervention by
uBetWHAT?! officials. One major difference from eBay’s model (and the
model used by most person-to-person gaming sites) is that uBetWHAT?! does
not decide the winners or take a commission on bets.
uBetWHAT?! is the first online community to provide members with a platform to place bets
between each other, without the nuisance and expense of going though a
broker or bookmaker. Members discuss bets between each other, set their
own odds and accept or reject each offer based on an individual’s betting
history.
“The friendly wager is a part of everyday life,” said co-founder,
Frank J. Aquilino Sr.,“uBetWHAT?! fills a niche that allows people to bet
whatever they want, however they want, with whomever they want.”
Members immediately began placing a myriad of bets of cash and products on events
covering sports, politics, the news and even the weather. Recent bets at uBetWHAT?! include:
- A total of $1,000 in bets concerning the fate of
Kobe Bryant
- A 2001 BMW 330CI bet on the future of Yahoo stock
- A brand new iPod wagered over the success of Howard Dean
